Add-On Rating
NFSS is a private club, not a flight school. Flight instruction is reserved for full-time members (contingent on instructor availability) who volunteer their time in a variety of ways, including cleaning aircraft, flying our tow planes, and assisting with flight operations. It can take anywhere from several months to a year to earn a rating.
A glider rating will sharpen your skills and begin a lifelong journey towards mastering the art of soaring. You’ll gain confidence with off-field landings, improve your ability to read the weather as it changes around you, and experience the joy of staying aloft for hours without the aid of an engine.
Pilots may opt for either a private or commercial add-on rating, depending on their current license privileges.
